Measuring Each County's Performance
S&B has developed a relative county risk index that uses five factors in determining the economic strength of a specific county. The five factors include population, personal income, per capita income, total employment, and unemployment. These rankings are based upon comparisons of the county to other counties across the nation and to the state in which the county is located. Each factor is ranked as having either poor, below average, average, above average, or strong economic strength.
